“Forensic Document Examination consists of the analysis and comparison of disputed handwriting, hand printing, signatures, printing processes, typewriters, ink, paper, and other documentary type evidence with known standards in order to establish authorship or authenticity”.
Forensic Document Examination has been the practice of identifying forgeries and insuring that a document or set of documents in dispute is truly authentic. It became an absolute necessity for the courts to be able to identify legal documents correctly. This set of processes include the precise examination of items such as:
